Gatsby 4-6

  Gatsby's past and present which are all talked about in chapters 4-6; show great connection with the epigraph at the beginning of the book,’The Great Gatsby’ It shows how Gatsby relates with the gold hat and the bouncer and also shows how Daisy relates to the girl the epigraph is talking about when it states “I must have you.” Chapters 4-6 speak on how Gatsby tries to figure out a way to get Daisy back over several years of distance and when he gets the chance he blows it until Nick has some words of wisdom. In the Book, ‘The Great Gatsby’ The character gatsby is described and talked about his future with the characters, Daisy and Nick. We find out that Gatsby has had a past with daisy in chapter 5 when it states,”I turned toward Gatsby and he was no longer there.” This quote was showing that Gatsby felt some sort of embarrassment or shame due to his past with Tom Buchanan's wife. Gatsby and the Partys

   As each party in the book ‘The Great Gatsby’ is vastly different from each other I will be describing why I believe that I would want to go to Gatsby's party over Daisy’s and Myrtle's. I will also be describing who went to each party and what the different settings were in each party.  Firstly, In Daisy’s party it began in a “Georgian Colonial mansion, overlooking the bay” as stated on page 6 with “broken by a line of french windows, glowing now with reflected gold.” This then went on to mean that the party was at a rich place. As each character was introduced, one of the first ones was Daisy. Daisy was a bubbly girl that everyone seemed to enjoy being around; opposed to Tom who was arrogant and already accomplished everything as a hall of fame football player, as stated on page 7,”two judgemental arrogant eyes had established dominance over his face.” After this another character was introduced named Mrs.Baker who always answered to a question that was asked or was ...
