blog unit 6

In the broadest view of the text in Unit 6 from A travel writer’s exploration of life in rural america the writer of the article begins his form of language in the text is a first person point of view in a past tense form. This is shown by the words expressed such as,”we went” and “My” Following this the author begins using a narrator's expressions and language as if he is telling a story that already happened or happened a long time ago. To add on to this as well the author uses very descriptive language in his extract to express the tone and setting of the story and what is going on. Aswell as this it also affects the readers emotions and how he is feeling while reading the story.   This form of language is what creates the initial tone of the excerpt and starts the way or feel the writing is going to express which was the aim of the writer. The tone comes off as bland and dry which creates confusion as the text goes on because it switches mid story to the second thing i...

shooting elephant

To begin my analysis with the Excerpt,’ Shooting an Elephant’ the writer begins his writing with the use of first person narrative and continues this throughout the entire excerpt. The writer goes and uses past tense showing that he has already been through what the story is telling and he has already been through the excerpt. The author rotates between using longer and shorter sentences adding emotion to what the reader is saying. Another example of how the author uses shorter structured sentences was,”In that instant, in too short a time, one would have thought, even for the bullet to get there, a mysterious, terrible change had come over the elephant.” This constant use of commas and pauses in the sentence add tone to the speaker's language, giving it a mysterious ...

Paper 1

Question1  Only a few of thousands make the Olympics and to win a gold medal or even bronze is a one in a million. Many people dream of moments like these but few actually experience this. Bolt's experience was a memorable experience as even being the greatest sprinter of all time had no idea that he was gonna win the race until he won it. What leads up to the biggest race for these grown men is trash talk. Most of these men have never gone up against each other in their lives. Then Bang the shot went off to start the race, and Richard Thompson another great sprinter got one of the best starts out of the few but Bolt recovered quickly around 20 meters. Bolt then was second in the pack when his momentum built up and his stride led him past thompson. Bolt questioned himself asking where Asafa was. He then looked behind him and knew around 80 meters he was gonna win the race in the olympics for the 100 meter dash. All those months and years behind him for that shining brilliant...
