The English in our culture as well as language itself does directly shape our thoughts and how we communicate.  Each language is different with cultural differences within each form of english that is being spoken.  As each of us are born into different cultures with different families, each of us are affected differently by the form of speech taught by the parents who are teaching this language. An excerpt provided by stanford university presents and example and many samples of how we all share a similar opinion that language changes and shapes our thoughts. As different structures in different forms of English are presented this changes the thought process of how the words are presented and left off during the speech process. In a standard english form one would say “She broke the cup.”’ as presented in the excerpt while a japanese speaker would say “The cup broke itself.” In the English form one is putting blame on a specific person who broke the cup.   Nowadays English is constantly growing with about 1.5 billion people speaking it not including those attempting to learn it. Following this, English has been one of the most important languages to learn as its status continues to grow. English may not always grow as time goes however, as of right now English is growing as more people learn this as their first and second languages. English remains to grow as a whole but so do technological advancements in today's day and age. For example, people reading articles or excerpts in mostly English will soon be able to have it read to them in different languages like German or japanese.
