NEW SCHOOL WHO THIS

Dont worry Youll never get lost

It's your first day at school and you don't know where or what to do because your the new student on campus. The first thing you’ll want to know is that we are a very friendly family and you can always ask anyone where to go if you get lost. If that, because all of our classrooms are structured well with math and science on the third floor, art and English language classes on the second floor, and foreign language and History on the first floor with the gym next door. Everything is labeled too with the teachers name on the door and their main study of focus.

Scholar school!!!

As a student here at MIA we offer an Aice program which leads to a bright futures scholarship for a school of your choice here in florida giving students the chance to excel not only in highschool but also in the next level. Our school values our well rounded teachers and our low teacher to student ratio giving you a chance to learn without difficulty and having an ability to be noticed as a student. So you should never be afraid to ask a question when you have one.

Involve Yourself

Also here at MIA we have clubs such as key club, interact, and spanish honor society which provide community service hours which you will need to graduate in easy ways just by going to the meetings and attending some of the events. The events could even be as little as volunteering at a carwash or even a carshow here on the island.

We also have fun clubs as well such as Manta Motors, fishing club, and even chess club so you can never get bored of doing nothing after school. Being involved in activities is not only fun but it gives big colleges the opportunity to see that you were involved and they might be more interested in you if you plan on going to college.

We also offer all kinds of sports which almost all have won their pcac championships with the past 3 years leaving you to have a chance to perform in sports and be more involved.

My best advice to you is to never be scared to ask someone for help because here at MIA we are willing to help not only as friends but as well as family.

1b - Reflecting back on my previous leaflet on giving advice to people going to a new school, I believe that I had correct structure in my leaflet as leaflets have shorter paragraphs such as subheadings instead of long paragraphs. I included headings to contribute to the structure of the leaflet and follow the steps to properly project my information to the audience.

I gave advice on not only finding your way around a new school but also on your future if you were to go to the new school. This led me to write also about what you can do to be more involved with student activities and clubs during and after school. I tried to keep my language in a welcoming tone to try and make the reader feel safe and less nervous about being a ‘new student’ also including reasons why the student shouldnt be scared to ask someone for help when they don't know what to do. After this I included how we had a low student to teacher ratio making it easier for me to prove how teachers will alway be able to notice you as well as give every student the right to be noticed and helped.

In my leaflet I also included how students need hours to graduate which gives students an excuse to join clubs and involve themselves to be able to fill up on the right hours they need.

  1. AO2:Your expression was clear and you had a range of language. You had many complex sentences and some common lexis. You didn’t have many errors and your organization was appropriate to the prompt. You followed the prompt well and your content reflects it. To add, you addressed the audience well with language.(7 marks)

AO3:You had a limited analysis of form, structure, and language. You did well explaining your choices but did not have many examples. Your analysis would be more detailed if you had more examples of each and went into more specifics. You did well and had a clear analysis on how your choices related to the audience.(3 marks)

  2. AO2: There is clear expression compiled with a range of language. There are some errors like grammar and correct word usage, such as "your' and "you're". but, the errors do not impede on the communication in the text as it is still easily understandable. The task is achieved with relevant content. The audience is addressed throughout the response as well. (8 marks).

AO3: There is a clear analysis of form, structure, and language. There is references to the text and the choices you made. The explanations for each choice was a good input for the analysis. The reference to the audience and how the choices you made related to them was well done in your analysis. The only issue is the length, I feel like more could be put in the analysis. But everyone in the class made the same mistake including myself. (6 marks).
